Painter

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and physical condition of the property through painting, refinishing, and surface preparation. Ensures all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet brand and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Painting & Surface Work

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, and fixtures
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
• Match existing colors and finishes to maintain consistency across the property
• Repair drywall, plaster, and minor wall damage prior to painting

Preventative Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and public areas for paint damage or wear
• Proactively address scuffs, chips, water damage, and discoloration
• Maintain painting schedules for guestrooms and high-traffic areas

Project Work

• Complete room refreshes and renovation projects within assigned timelines
• Coordinate with housekeeping and front office to minimize guest disruption
• Assist with special projects (e.g., seasonal updates, event setups, design upgrades)

Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA guidelines and property safety standards
• Properly handle, store, and dispose of paints, chemicals, and equipment
• Use PPE and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Inventory & Equipment

• Maintain tools, ladders, and painting equipment in good working condition
• Track and request supplies (paint, brushes, rollers, etc.)
• Ensure proper labeling and storage of materials

Qualifications

• 2 years of professional painting experience (hospitality preferred)
• Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation
• Basic understanding of drywall repair and finishing
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
