Assembler

Seeking an entry level assembler and general laborer to work with the assembly and insulation team to ensure company products are designed, built and delivered right every time.

The ideal candidate will be a team player and have mechanical aptitude. Job duties will include,but not limited to, reading of blueprints, use of various hand tools, fastening parts and assemblies, examining connections for correct fit and gathering of needed parts and materials.

Opportunities for cross training in other departments.

Works under immediate supervision. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Classification: Non-exempt - Class 1 – Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union position

Non-union members may apply but must become members of Local #17 Sheet Metal Workers Union after 90 days

Reports to: Superintendent

Essential Functions:

Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint

specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and

subassemblies.

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a fast paced, large non-temperature controlled manufacturing

environment.

Ability to lift 10-30 lbs. with the assistance of another employee or using a cart

Standing a minimum of 8 hours a day

Sitting a minimum of 0 hours a day

Walking a minimum of 8 hours a day

Pulling|Pushing a minimum of 4 hours a day

Ability to pass physical exam, criminal background and drug screening

Required Experience:

Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Able to work with minimum supervision

Excellent organizational skills

Able to multi-task in a fast paced environment

High school diploma or GED
