Schedule: 5 days a week, 6:50 AM - 4:00 PM with occasional earlier start times and/or later stop times for special ride offerings during peak seasons. Weekends and holidays expected.
Job Description:
We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trail Ride Guide. This position requires a blend of excellent horsemanship skills, customer service abilities, and a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for leading guided trail rides, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests, and providing exceptional care for our horses.
Responsibilities:
* Trail Rides:
* Lead guided horseback trail rides through scenic beach, marsh, and wooded trails.
* Provide clear and concise instructions to riders of varying experience levels.
* Ensure the safety of all riders and horses during trail rides.
* Maintain a positive and engaging attitude throughout the ride.
* Share knowledge about the local flora, fauna, and history of the area.
* Horse Care:
* Daily feeding and watering of horses.
* Grooming and tacking horses for rides.
* Cleaning stalls and maintaining the cleanliness of the barn area.
* Monitoring horses' health and reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
* Assisting with basic veterinary care as needed.
* Other Duties:
* Assisting with guest check-in and orientation.
* Maintaining and repairing tack and equipment.
* General ranch maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
* Extensive experience riding horses.
* Strong knowledge of horse care and management.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to handle horses of varying temperaments.
* First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
* Knowledge of the local area and natural history (a plus).
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Must be able to pass a drug test and background check for consideration.
