What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Banquet Server at Camp Creek Resort position at THE ST JOE COMPANY?
Job Summary
The role of Banquet Server is responsible for supporting all banquet operations, including, but not limited to, setup, service, and breakdown. This role ensures guest receive exceptional, attentive service throughout the event while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and presentation.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Prepare all equipment and areas for the event as stated on the BEO (Banquet Event Order)
Ensure all materials needed to match the BEO are on hand
Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional way
Maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
Service guests and anticipate their needs during event
Take food and beverage orders
Collect plates and clear the table as guests finish their meals
Respond urgently to any concerns and notify the Banquet Manager
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation practices are used throughout the event
Break down all equipment
Clean up areas and event space, including but not limited to. sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, taking out trash
Prepare for the next event accordingly
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate effectively with guests
Must be at least sixteen years old (18 years old to serve alcoholic beverages)
One year serving experience in a high-volume facility preferred
Exceptional customer service experience
Extensive knowledge of food service & beverage service
Food Handlers Certification (can obtain upon hire)
Alcohol Awareness Certification (can obtain upon hire)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way
Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests
Knowledge of special diets to ensure safety of guests when ordering food
Extensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation methods
Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, wine & beverages
Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accordingly
Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems
Detail-oriented and thorough
Ability to perform consistent work to the highest standards
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple guests at a time
Physical Demands
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, kneeling, and stooping
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
Must be able to safely deliver food and drinks on different surfaces
Working Conditions
Exposure to slippery surfaces and stairs depending on location
Indoor and/or outdoor
Exposure to extreme heat and cold depending on season and location
Potential exposure to naturally occurring environmental factors such as wind, rain, red tide, etc.
Possibility to work 11 hour shifts
