What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at The Squires Group?
Our client is a veteran-owned information technology company that has spent the past 10 years successfully supporting DoD and Intelligence Community customers. Due to their continued growth, they are seeking an HR Generalist for a newly created position at their Anne Arundel County office. In this role, you will be responsible for benefits administration, labor compliance, and improving employee engagement across the organization. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related matters.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the company organizational charts and personnel data in the (HCM) system, including job classifications, employment status, compensation, and position assignments.
- Administer the Total Rewards program, covering medical, fringe, and 401K benefits.
- Collaborate with the Director of HR on compliance tasks, including reporting, labor law posters, and required notices.
- Track and resolve employee relations issues, conflicts, policy violations, and performance improvement plans
- Review ADA accommodation requests and work with management to develop approved solutions.
- Advise on paid and unpaid leave, illness, bereavement, and other special leave types.
- Work with the Office Administrator on employee engagement and candidate experience.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding, to include managing the pre-hire process to ensure new hires complete necessary actions (e.g., drug testing, application, onboarding).
- Assist new hires with benefit enrollments
Qualifications
- Bachelors in HR or related field
- 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist (small/mid-sized company)
- Knowledge of employment laws
- Government Contracting experience
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Payroll law
- SHRM, PHR, or other HR certifications
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range of $90K-$100K, based on experience, qualifications, and certifications. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
