Overview:
The Springs of Texarkana is seeking a dedicated and skilled PRN Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our therapy team. In this role, you will provide essential speech therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing facility, helping to enhance their quality of life through improved communication and swallowing function.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Provide direct speech therapy services in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Document all evaluations, treatments, and resident progress accurately and in a timely manner
- Educate residents, families, and staff on communication and swallowing strategies
- Participate in care planning and team meetings as needed
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of Texas
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of evaluation and treatment techniques for communication and swallowing disorders
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with documentation systems (NetHealth experience a plus)
Availability:
- PRN schedule with weekday and weekend availability preferred
