Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Meat Slicer, where you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meat products for our customers. You are responsible for preparing high-quality, thinly sliced meats for hot pot service. This role ensures consistency, food safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
- Slice meats (beef, lamb, pork, etc.) to precise thinness using a commercial meat slicer or manual techniques
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and presentation standards
- Properly store, label, and rotate meats following FIFO (first in, first out) practices
- Ensure all meats are fresh, properly thawed, and handled according to food safety guidelines
- Clean and sanitize slicers, knives, and prep areas regularly
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management
- Assist with basic prep tasks (organizing trays, restocking stations)
- Follow all health and safety regulations at all times
- Work efficiently during peak hours to keep up with service demand
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow all food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure adherence to health standards
- Support inventory management by rotating stock, recording product weights, and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Assist in cleaning kitchen or washing dishes during slower service times
Skills
- Previous kitchen or meat slicing experience REQUIRED
- Ability to operate commercial meat slicers safely (training will also be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods
- Team player with good communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and meat cutting methods
- Strong knife skills with the ability to make precise cuts efficiently and safely
- Experience in food handling, packaging, and maintaining food safety standards within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Standing for extended periods
