Requirements
- Ability to work 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to physically interact with the children (squatting down, picking up kids, playing outside, etc.)
- Ability to pass a background check
- CPR certification
Duties
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, sports and outdoor games
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and cooperative conduct
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space and adhere to all safety protocols including first aid procedures
- Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate programs aligned with youth development principles
- Administer first aid or CPR when necessary, following established protocols to ensure child safety
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to handle behavioral issues with patience and effective behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols
- Experience facilitating youth programs or camp activities that promote teamwork and leadership
- Excellent child supervision skills combined with a nurturing approach
- Background in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus
- Outdoor work experience, including sports coaching or nature-based activities
- Strong communication skills for engaging children, parents, and team members effectively
