As a Reading Specialist at The Spire School, you'll provide high quality, data driven literacy instruction that helps students unlock their academic potential and build confidence as learners. You will support college bound students in grades 6 through 12 by delivering personalized reading instruction aligned with the school’s mission and philosophy.

You will support college bound students in grades 6 through 12 by delivering personalized reading instruction aligned with the school’s mission and philosophy.
What You’ll Need
- Master's degree and a valid Connecticut teaching license with endorsement 102 or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut
- Formal training or certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or another multisensory structured reading approach
- At least two years of experience supporting students with literacy or language-based learning differences
- Knowledge of the IEP process, progress monitoring, and data based instructional planning
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach that support a small team environment
- Deliver individualized and small group reading instruction using diagnostic and multisensory methods
- Assess student skills, monitor progress, and document outcomes using formative and summative measures
- Design and implement structured literacy interventions that meet diverse learning profiles
- Partner with teachers and staff to embed reading strategies across content area instruction
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and districts and participate in meetings as needed
