What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Revenue Cycle position at The Specialty Alliance?
- Run day-to-day billing operations (charge entry, coding, AR follow-up, and denial management) and keep everything running on time and on target.
- Own our revenue cycle KPIs: Days in A/R, denial rates, clean claim rate, and cash collections, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Dig into denials, rejections, and payer trends to find root causes and put fixes in place that stick.
- Drive EMR optimization - workqueues, edits, and automation - working hand-in-hand with IT and operations to reduce manual lift.
- Lead process improvement initiatives that cut rework, raise first-pass resolution, and make the whole team faster and smarter.
- Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to tackle upstream issues including documentation gaps, authorization delays and scheduling problems before they hit revenue.
- Build, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, leads, and billing staff who are accountable, skilled, and motivated.
- Keep us compliant (coding guidelines, billing regulations, audit standards) and ready for whatever comes next.
- Support growth: new service lines, provider onboarding, payer contract changes, and beyond.
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or related), peferred.
- Certification such as CPC, CPB, CRCR, or HFMA credential.
- 5 years of progressive experience in professional billing or revenue cycle management.
- 3 years of leadership experience overseeing multi-functional billing teams.
- Experience in multi-specialty or large physician group environments.
- Demonstrated success improving KPIs and leading operational transformation.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelors Degree preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years in healthcare revenue cycle experience required; equivalent management experience
Performance Requirements:
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codes preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products- ability to create and build spreadsheets in Excel
- Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving company growth.
- Maintain current knowledge and adhere to appropriate regulatory standards such as Medicare.
