Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing tailored to each dog’s breed, size, and individual needs
- Safely handle dogs of all temperaments using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Assess each pet’s health condition, alerting veterinary professionals if any concerns arise during grooming
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Assist with pet handling tasks such as dog training or behavioral management to facilitate smooth grooming sessions
- Support other team members with pet care duties including kennel cleaning, pet sitting, or basic veterinary assistance as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming with knowledge of breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs of various sizes and temperaments confidently
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures, veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus for understanding health considerations during grooming
- Knowledge of animal restraint methods to ensure safety during grooming processes
