Facility Security Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Facility Security Officer to oversee the safety and security operations across our facilities. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for implementing security protocols, managing access control, conducting surveillance, and ensuring compliance with security regulations. Responsibilities

• Manage access control systems to authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors, ensuring strict adherence to security policies.
• Conduct thorough background checks on personnel and vendors as part of the onboarding and ongoing security screening process.
• Monitor surveillance systems continuously to detect suspicious activity or security breaches and respond promptly.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans, including first aid and CPR procedures, to handle incidents efficiently.
• Oversee physical security measures such as perimeter patrols, fence inspections, and heavy lifting tasks necessary for maintaining secure premises.
• Coordinate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or incidents requiring external support.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, audits, inspections, and compliance activities for management review.
• Lead a team of security personnel by providing training on conflict management, operational procedures, and customer service excellence.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of security systems including access control systems and surveillance technology.
• Proven experience in law enforcement or military settings with a solid understanding of physical security practices.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for physical security tasks or equipment installation.
• Exceptional conflict management skills combined with a calm demeanor during emergencies or high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of compliance standards related to security regulations and operational management best practices.
• Effective team management skills with a focus on training, supervision, and fostering a collaborative environment.
