$49,000 — SPARC Services and Programs is actively hiring a Family Support Partner for the MORES (Mobile Outreach Response Engagement Stabilization) Program, a mobile intervention. MORES provides face-to-face crisis response for children and adolescents experiencing escalating emotional or behavioral needs, and meeting families where they are, in their homes, schools, and communities.
As a Family Support Partner, you will work alongside MORES team members to engage and support caregivers and families throughout the crisis response and stabilization process. This role draws on your own lived experience as a caregiver to build trust, model navigation of systems, and connect families to the resources they need.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has:
- Lived experience as a primary caregiver for a child who has or has had mental health, substance use, or intellectual/developmental disability needs
- Experience navigating child and family-serving systems and supporting other families doing the same
- One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field 1 year of experience working with children and families
- Associate's degree in a human services field 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or transition-age youth
- High school diploma or GED 4 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or transition-age youth
Knowledge of:
- Family-driven, youth-guided care and family rights in the treatment process
- Family support services, linkage, and coordination of care
- Principles of human behavior and interpersonal relationships
- General documentation practices
Skills in:
- Engaging youth and families/caregivers
- De-escalation, crisis intervention, and shifting dynamics in the moment
- Strengths-based assessment across medical, mental health, trauma, and developmental contexts
- Safety planning, crisis planning, and progress monitoring
- Motivational interviewing and behavior change strategies
- Identifying formal services and uncovering natural supports
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including with clients who have visual impairments
- Build rapport across diverse cultural backgrounds
- Work independently under general supervision
- Demonstrate persistence, objectivity, and genuine positive regard for clients and families
