Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Albuquerque, NM, for a Systems Safety Engineer. The Systems Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing system safety programs, conducting hazard analysis, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role involves risk assessment at all stages of the system lifecycle and providing technical recommendations to enhance system safety. Additionally, the role may require supporting mission assurance processes and participating in design reviews and tests to ensure safety considerations are integrated effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience in System Safety Engineering, failure mode analysis, and hazard evaluation techniques
- Knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and policies such as MIL-STD-882 and related space safety protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, and safety specialists
- Proficiency in system design, testing, and risk management methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for developing safety documentation and reports
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Security clearance eligibility is required
- Experience in space systems or defense-related programs is highly advantageous
