What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Facilities & Security Associate position at THE SOUTHERN VERMONT ARTS CENTER?
The Facilities & Security Associate (FSA) at SVAC serves as a key part of the Facilities Staff responsible for the functioning and safety of SVAC’s 5 buildings and 100 acre campus. The FSA has a multitude of responsibilities.
Must be able to work well in a group setting, take direction well, be self-motivated and self-sufficient. Gardening and landscaping experience is a plus. Knowledge of carpentry, painting and general handiwork, as well as knowledge of building and grounds operational machinery is required.
General duties include:
- General maintenance
- Lawn-work (mowing, weed whacking)
- Patching and painting of galleries
- Event set up and clean up
- Guest services
- Occasional moving of heavy furniture, boxes, and equipment
- Troubleshooting of mechanical/systems issues
- Safety & Security duties as needed
- Scheduling of contractors (i.e. housekeeping, painting, mechanical systems, etc.) and repair and service technicians
The position is part-time at 20-30 hours per week. Some evenings and one weekend day required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
