Role Summary
We are actively recruiting a mission-driven, creative, and detail-oriented Digital Marketing Apprentice to join our team as we expand our student-led innovation ecosystem.
In partnership with the Orange County Department of Education, we are launching our second cohort this April, with a third cohort planned for October. This entry-level opportunity is designed for students or early-career professionals (ages 16ā24) who are passionate about digital storytelling, innovation, and inclusive leadership in Orange County. Apprentices will receive mentorship and hands-on training across digital content creation, branding, analytics, and platform management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support digital marketing initiatives across LinkedIn, YouTube, and The Sophia Consulting Firm website
- Create branded visuals, blog content, short-form videos, and long-form video content to support the Amplifying Scientific InnovationĀ® platform, including podcast episodes, webinars, apprenticeship initiatives, and book-related content
- Participate in content analysis, digital storytelling strategy, and audience engagement tracking across multimedia platforms
- Assist with self-production activities including video editing, recording preparation, captions, transcripts, thumbnails, and publishing workflows
- Collaborate on editorial tasks including blog drafting, caption writing, promotional copy, and research summaries
- Assist with website updates using no-code platforms (e.g., GoDaddy, Shopify, Wix)
- Monitor content engagement metrics and prepare basic analytics reports
- Help maintain digital archives of media content, transcripts, and brand assets
- Participate in weekly 1:1 mentor meetings and monthly cohort meetings focused on workforce readiness, communication, and professional development
- Contribute to the Amplifying Scientific InnovationĀ® platform as part of a capstone-style apprenticeship experience emphasizing measurable work output and innovation storytelling
- Receive invitations to select community events, workforce development activities, public speaking opportunities, OCDE-related programming, and innovation-focused engagements based on participation and performance
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Interest in innovation, science communication, entrepreneurship, or digital marketing
- Basic familiarity with Canva, Google Workspace, and social media platforms
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Effective written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
