Job Summary

The Business Manager is responsible for executing a wide range of bookkeeping and administrative duties, including maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments, compiling financial reports, and supporting audit activities. This position is integral to the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable including payroll approvals, fund transfers, and payments to contract labor (instructors, vendors, creative teams, and technical crew).
  • Record deposits and categorize income to appropriate revenue lines.
  • Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online.
  • Compile and present financial statements and budget reports for board review.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns.
  • Reconcile monthly all balance sheet account statements and ensure financial data integrity across CRM and POS systems.
  • Provide financial and documentation support during audits (financial and insurance).
  • Generate payroll, expense, and revenue reports; prepare, file and distribute 1099 forms.
  • Provide front-desk support including answering phones and greeting guests.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to scheduled hours.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with bookkeeping or financial management, ideally in a nonprofit or arts environment.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and financial reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with CRM and POS systems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting and audit processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
