Host / Server - Private Cigar & Spirits Lounge (No Tipping Required)
Location: Downtown Greenville, SC
Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Pay: $19 - $26/hr total (base wage service charge distribution) - no tipping required Schedule: Six-day operating week, closed Tuesdays
Hours: Part-time ~15–35 hrs/week, Full-time ~35–40 hrs/week, evenings and weekends
About The Courtroom
The Courtroom is a members-only cigar and spirits lounge in the heart of downtown Greenville, part of the Socialite Collective family. We're building something different in Greenville hospitality - a place defined by genuine connection, uncommon craftsmanship, and service that feels personal rather than transactional. Our founding members, "The Founding Jury," have already joined us on this vision, and we're now assembling the team who will bring it to life every single night.
This is not a typical restaurant or bar job. We operate on a Hospitality Included model - no tipping - because we believe exceptional service shouldn't depend on a gratuity. Every member's bill includes a service charge, pooled and distributed across the team, so your pay isn't dependent on who you serve or how generous they're feeling that night. It's a stable, predictable wage model built for people who want to build a real career in hospitality, not just get through a shift.
The Role
As a team member, you're one of the defining faces of the member experience at The Courtroom. You set the tone the moment a member walks through the door - and you carry that tone through every interaction, table, and detail across the evening.
No cigar or spirits experience required - we train that. What we can't train is warmth and attention. If you've got genuine hospitality instinct, we'll teach you the craft.
What You'll Do
- Welcome members and their guests by name, anticipating needs before they're spoken
- Own the floor experience - seating, pacing, and the small details that make an evening feel effortless
- Uphold our service standard and step in gracefully when something needs to be made right
- Maintain familiarity with our spirits, cigar, and menu offerings to guide member choices with confidence
- Support nightly service flow in coordination with the Leaders and GM
- Help protect the culture and atmosphere that makes The Courtroom worth belonging to
What We're Looking For
- A natural warmth paired with genuine attentiveness
- Composure and good judgment, especially when things don't go as planned
- Comfort with a phone-free, presence-first service environment
- Reliable availability across our six-day operating week
- Must be 21 or older
- Prior experience in high-touch hospitality, private club, fine dining, or full-service restaurants is a plus - but not required
