Responsibilities
- Greet and support patients before, during, and after their appointment
- Take and process dental radiographs, impressions, and intraoral photos
- Prepare and sterilize the treatment room and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures
- Document orthodontic care by charting patient records
- Assist the orthodontist in assessing patients and implementing treatment plans
- Perform routine orthodontic duties, including adjusting orthodontic gear
Qualifications
- Active license/registration to practice as a dental assistant, as required by your state
- 6 months of experience as an orthodontic assistant
- CPR or BLS certification
- Completion of a CODA accredited dental assisting program (preferred)
- Proficiency fitting bands and brackets, tying arch wires, and taking impressions
- Punctual, professional, and a strong team player
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with strong knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology
