What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cat Care Attendant/Adoption Coordinator position at The Simon Foundation?
The Simon Foundation is looking to hire reliable and hardworking new team members! The Cat Care Attendant role is an important part of our team, responsible for keeping our cat condos and rooms clean and sanitary, while ensuring a cozy environment for our feline residents. Duties also include monitoring the daily health and well-being of all cats and notifying management of any concerns. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with all kinds of cats, including those with behavioral challenges. Prior experience with cats is required!
For the Adoption Coordinator position, we are looking for a candidate with prior experience either in the animal field or reception work. The ideal candidate will be able to speak with customers in-person and via phone, have experience with computers, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team with the other adoption coordinators.
We are looking for a candidate that can split their time between the Cat Care position and the Adoptions position. As our employees work within the cat area, they get to know each cat's personality and needs. This makes the Cat Care attendant a great fit for also assisting with cat adoptions.
Qualifications/Skills
- Detail oriented, have ability to follow strict protocols & procedures
- Capable of bending, lifting 40 pounds
- Must be physically capable of keeping up with a fast paced, rigorous cleaning regime.
- Good communication skills
- Good listening and learning abilities
- Ability to work as part of a team with our volunteers
- Genuine passion for animal care
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 21 years old or up
- Have a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
- Have a flexible schedule
- Be reliable and show for scheduled shifts
- Be available for weekends, and holidays!
- Be available for Cat Care Attendant hours of 8am-2pm (with the possibility to stay later if needed. Timing depends on number of kitty residents). and Cat Adoption Hours of 11am-4pm.
