Job Description Relationships Siegfried is adding Business Development professionals to its National Market Sales Team (NMST). This position offers the opportunity to be an ambitious, well-connected Sales Professional and Leadership Advisor to financial executives at Fortune 1000 companies. The Business Development (BD) professional strives to build emotionally connected, long-term relationships, where they act as a Leadership Advisor to their clients/prospects/referral sources to deliver the utmost value, which leads to the development of new business opportunities through our Strategic Networking Relationship Model. Training Through a unique Sales Leadership and Director Development Program, which includes multiple workshops (in-person, virtual, and asynchronous), two National Meetings, and potential opportunities for shadow weeks outside of the home market, our BD professionals engage in on-the-job training to accelerate their career as a leader by working alongside, supporting, and learning the Siegfried Way starting day one. Clear expectations are set and will include synergistic training and coaching around our sales methodology, strategies, and processes. These topics feature but are not limited to our Strategic Service Offering, Value Proposition, Leadership Advisory, Sales Sustainability Plan, Compensation Model, Recruiting, Relationship Stages, 12 Drivers, Effective Needs Assessment, High Performance Model, Performance Assurance Review Process, and Individual Leadership. Mentorship/Teaming The Business Development professional will be mentored and receive Siegfried Sales Training from their Regional Managing Director, Regional Chief of Staff, local/regional Business Development team and/or the National Sales Operations Team. Training will focus on The Siegfried Sales Strategy, with allocated time to devote to Network Expansion/Relationship Building/Business Development in practice. Simultaneously, they will be supporting a Managing Director or Director in servicing clients and securing new business daily, which will include associated logistical, organizational, and tactical responsibilities. Through mentoring, coaching, and training, the ultimate goal is to become a successful Managing Director. Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have any Supervisory Responsibilities. Essential Functions & Key Role Responsibilities Participation in our Siegfried Leadership and Director Xcelerator (DX) Development program, learning the Siegfried way of business development Attendance of all firm trainings, DX workshops and various firm meetings, some inclusive of travel Timely completion of all DX assignments, project work as well as active participation in both virtual and in person sessions Keen focus on relationship development as well as network expansion via the Firm’s “ABCD” approach Engage in the prospect, research and development of relationships and opportunities with potential new and/or dormant clients Demonstrate consistent knowledge and understanding of current market developments and activity Support of the deployment process of professional resources to client projects, inclusive of client presentations of potential resource options, AR management, rhythmic check in conversations and documentation of various conversations Document and participate in qualifying leads through proactive Needs Assessment and Reverse Needs Assessment conversations Document and participate in performance review conversations, to assess both client satisfaction as well as provide feedback to our professional resources Active participation in market recruiting activities, events and interviews, with the focus of adding the right people to the team Act as a mentor to coach and guide professional resources on expansion and deepening of their networks Support of overall internal market team clients, priorities and administration Schedule and organize meetings, networking and client development/expansion activities Required Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in relevant fields of study, such as Business, Accounting, or comparable field Demonstrates extraordinary intangible attributes aligned with our High Performance Model®, especially humility, courage, ambition, mental agility, and chemistry and communication Passionate and persistent in building meaningful connections, securing key meetings, and fostering ongoing engagement through active networking Demonstrates emotional intelligence, courage, and determination to grow as a leader by embracing new challenges and continually pushing beyond comfort zones Proactive self-starter with a growth mindset, strong organization, and exceptional follow-through Thrives in fast-paced, high-energy environments with a strong work ethic and a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and exceptional listening skills Team player with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in the overall growth of the Firm Willingness & flexibility to travel and attend in-person trainings, Firm meetings, and other meetings as needed. Averages 3-6 times per year, with flexibility for additional travel as may be requested Ability and willingness to work a minimum of 48-52 hours per week, on average, as well as willingness to attend some evening networking, market, and client dinner events 1-2x per week Must live within the contiguous U.S. Must live proximate to Siegfried office and have the ability and willingness to work in a Siegfried office as required for an average of four days per week in accordance with Siegfried’s then current policy. (This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of management) Desired Qualifications Minimum 5 years in Big 4 or other professional services firms with a strong interest in a sales-focused role Experience in Client Relationship Advisory (CRA), Emerging Growth, or Business Development within the Big 4 – or similar areas – highly preferred FLSA/At-Will Employment This position is an exempt position under FLSA.
