Armed Security Officer

Job description:

Job Purpose

• Provide armed security for a private organization.

Duties

• Secure property and personnel by patrolling, scanning and controlling facility, grounds and access points.
• Maintains a secure and safe environment by monitoring access control systems.
• Complete reports from recorded observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities and question visitors.
• Respond to emergencies, report irregularities, inform violators of policies, protocols and procedures and restraining trespassers.
• Attend all MANDATORY training sessions throughout the year. Review and understand protocols and procedures and take part in training.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Military, law enforcement or first responder background preferred.
• Must have or are willing to obtain (at the organizations expense) an active Florida D & G license.
• Basic computer and electronic communication skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Drive.
• Ability to cope with emergencies and uncertainties; ability to adhere to operational planning and procedures; surveillance skills; ability to exercise sound judgment and objectivity; dependable; ability to sustain emotional control; honesty and integrity; professionalism; reporting skills.

Physical

• Ability to stand and walk in all weather conditions for long periods of time. Suit & tie dress code required for special events.

Background checks will be conducted prior to employment.
