Part Time Porter

The Shubert Organization is America’s oldest professional theatre company and the largest theatre owner on Broadway. Since the dawn of the 20th century, Shubert has operated hundreds of theatres and produced hundreds of plays and musicals both in New York City and throughout the United States. Shubert currently owns and operates 17 Broadway theatres, six off-Broadway venues (New World Stages and Stage 42), and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia.

New World Stages is the renowned performing arts complex in the heart of the theatre district which has served as the home of Tony Award®-winning, Guinness World Record-setting and Pulitzer Prize-earning shows. Providing world-class entertainment in an intimate environment on the site of lively Worldwide Plaza, it is made up of five theatres, a public lounge, and events spaces dedicated to audience and artist services.

JOB TITLE: Part-time Cleaners and Porters

PAY RATE: $20.00 per hour

WORK SCHEDULE:
Cleaner Hours May Include: Sundays - Fridays 9am-2pm, Saturdays 8am-2pm
Porter Hours May Include: Fridays-Saturdays 5pm-11pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
*Clean and Sanitize restrooms, including all sinks, fixtures, and toilets.
*Empty all trash cans and replace liner, clean receptacles as required.
*Wipe, dust, polish, or clean surfaces including windows, mirrors, glass, seats, handrails, walls, counters, etc.
*Vacuum, sweep and mop floors and stairs.
*Clean seats and carpet with extractor when required.
*Restock supplies in bathrooms, breakrooms, and common areas.
*Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
*Communicate with management regarding supply needs.
*Abide by all compactor safety rules and maintain compactor/dumpster area cleanliness.
*Follow all building procedures to ensure a safe work environment and ensure the safety of theatre guests.
*Safely use all chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets, including utilizing provided chemical mixing stations.
*Other routine upkeep duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Six months or more related experience.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish a plus.
*Good client/customer service skills.
*Ability to follow oral and written communications.
*Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
*Ability to work effectively with a team and also independently.
*Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willingness to learn.
*Must be reliable and report to work as scheduled.
