We offer top-tier vehicle storage, proudly caring for a unique collection of over 300 privately-owned cars, trucks, and motorcycles, creating a “living museum” of Seattle car culture. But that’s just the beginning! The Shop provides fully equipped car lifts, stocked with tools for members to work on their own vehicles. Whether it's a first-ever oil change or a frame-off restoration, the possibilities are limitless. The Shop also features a full service department, metal shop, automotive dealership, restaurant, members' lounge, cigar lounge, tobacconist, and even a barbershop!

At its heart, The Shop Clubs is more than just a place to store and admire cars—it’s a destination for car and motorcycle enthusiasts to gather, share experiences, and build a like-minded community.

The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Service Technician. As a Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Vehicle Servicing Department in addition to providing excellent customer service to our valued members. This position requires you to be experienced on a variety of different car related tasks, assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and constantly balancing various responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, focusing on complex drivability problems, rare carbureted systems, and high-performance exotics.
  • Unique/Rare Classic Service: Provide specialized care for antique and collector cars, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilding, brake, suspension, and steering system repairs.
  • Project Documentation & Quality: Execute meticulous work, ensuring all repairs meet or exceed strict manufacturer, historical, and Shop Club quality standards.
  • Part Sourcing & Fabrication: Research, locate, or fabricate rare, discontinued, or NOS (New Old Stock) parts to maintain vehicle authenticity.
  • Technical Communication: Maintain detailed, accurate service records and provide clear, professional recommendations to customers regarding the repair and preservation of their vehicles.
  • Workspace Maintenance: Adhere to all safety regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and secure workshop environment suitable for high-end clientele.
  • Professional Development: Proactively update technical skills regarding vintage engineering and modern electronics, participating in ongoing training.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma; vocational training or ASE certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in automotive repair with deep knowledge of all aspects of auto repair and service.
  • Proficient in diagnostic equipment and complex troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to high-quality workmanship.
  • Physically able to lift heavy equipment and work in a shop environment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Possess a well-equipped and adequate set of tools.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
