What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator - Lead Blender position at The Sherwin-Williams Company?
The Production Operator - Lead Blender will conduct paint draw-downs and prepare and blend customer orders to meet their specifications, while maintaining detailed records of their work orders and formulas. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all color matching and mixing equipment.
- Location: 3501 5th Avenue, East Moline, IL 61244
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Compensation: $22.10 - $28.70
Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. - Prepare customer orders, including blending initial batch, making shade adjustments, filling and labeling batches.
- Make shade and gloss adjustments to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure customers' quality and service expectations are met.
- Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
- Follow all safety practices as outlined.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Follow Hazardous Material Handling Procedures.
- Assist with the training and supervision of Facility Pre-Batch Blending Operators and Facility Color Blenders as directed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed.
- Employee must have reliable transportation.
- Employee may be required to retrieve material from shelves and lift and carry up to 50lbs and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
- Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
- Must be able to distinguish one or more chromatic colors.
- Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
- Employee must be able to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
