SUMMARY

The purpose of this position to provide clean living and working conditions for residents and staff in accordance with state, federal and county regulations along with facility policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

1. Ability to perform all cleaning procedures (dust, vacuum, mop, etc.) as directed.
2. Ability to observe infection control procedures and proper waste disposal in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
3. Must be able to follow directions and assist in proper care and use of housekeeping equipment; reporting equipment malfunction to supervisor.
4. Able to recognize situations that need repair and put in appropriate work order.
5. Ability to dispense soap, paper and other housekeeping supplies; able to assist with laundry duties.
6. Able to follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times.
7. Able to come to work as scheduled; demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
8. Able to accept assigned duties and follow facility safety procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, time-management and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Prior customer service experience preferred. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is not responsible for supervising other staff.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to lift, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  Specific vision abilities required on this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to push/pull or lift 40 pounds or more. Must be able to move continuously throughout the work day.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Subject to moderate physical an emotional stress associated with Housekeeper role. While performing duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. While performing duties of this job, the employee will have potential exposure to cleaning chemicals, biohazardous materials, blood/blood borne pathogens, other bodily fluids and residents with communicable diseases.
