Duties
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain high standards of sanitation by cleaning workstations, sinks, floors, and storage areas regularly
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dishes from dining areas to support efficient service flow
- Handle food safely during cleaning and food handling processes in accordance with health regulations
- Support with light food preparation tasks as directed by kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service
- Manage manual handling of heavy pots, pans, and dishware safely to prevent injury and ensure proper sanitation
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to promote a safe working environment for everyone
Requirements
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic cleaning tools effectively
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely during cleaning or moving supplies
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with kitchen tools is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific duties
