Opportunity:
The Vice President, Total Rewards Consultant (“Consultant”) serves as a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and key contributor within the corporate markets’ health consulting business. This role is responsible for maximizing company revenue and profitability by advising and servicing clients, leading strategic initiatives, and delivering consulting services across health, wellbeing, retirement, compensation, and communications. The Consultant acts as a trusted advisor, leveraging deep expertise and strong relationships to influence client organizations and drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
The Consultant is accountable for project planning, managing and overseeing the delivery of consulting services with a focus on large and complex organizations. Key responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Manage and grow client relationships through regular engagement, needs assessment, and identification of new opportunities.
- Lead or support business development and cross-selling initiatives.
- Serve as lead or secondary consultant on select client accounts, providing strategic advice on complex plan issues.
- Deliver technical expertise and complex analysis tailored to client objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to market and sell the full portfolio of consulting services as needed to support client objectives.
- Represent the company at conferences and industry events, including speaking engagements.
- Expand market reach and deepen relationships within targeted organizations.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to professional staff.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience within an employee benefits consulting and/or related professional services firm or in corporate environments with significant exposure to health plan strategy and implementation.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Recognized for professional service environment to have attained stature and recognition for professional and technical competence, business leadership skills, and impact.
- Deep and broad-based expertise in at least one of Segal’s service offerings; strong familiarity of multiple employee benefits.
- Proven success in managing client relationships and leading business development initiatives.
- Experience managing large, complex, or interdisciplinary projects.
- Effective communicator, collaborator, and proactive networker.
- Willingness to travel (20-60%).
- If actuarial oriented, minimum EA/ASA accreditation (FSA preferred).
- Ability to work at a desk/computer for extended periods; occasional light lifting; must meet hybrid office requirements.
- Must meet in office requirements for Regions that are hybrid.
