The Utility Plant Operator will be responsible for supporting plant operations through general facility housekeeping and operational assistance. This role focuses on maintaining a clean and safe work environment by sweeping debris, performing routine cleanup tasks, and supporting production staff as needed. The Utility Operator will obtain tools, equipment, and materials when requested, collect and transport samples from soybeans and canola for testing, and assist with general plant needs. This position is expected to follow all company safety policies and procedures and perform all duties in a safe, efficient, and team-oriented manner.
Job Duties:
- Perform facility housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including sweeping debris, removing waste, and keeping walkways, platforms, and work areas clear.
- Support plant operations through general labor assistance, responding to requests from Plant Operators, Shift Supervisors, or other production personnel as needed.
- Obtain and deliver tools, equipment, materials, and supplies when requested to support ongoing plant and maintenance activities.
- Assist with general plant needs, including cleanup following maintenance or production activities and preparation of work areas as directed.
- Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures as well as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and guidelines Support business activities, objectives, and programs.
- Perform all duties in a team‑oriented manner, demonstrating reliability, flexibility, and willingness to assist where needed to support overall plant operations.
- Actively participate in safety initiatives, including safety meetings, near‑miss reporting, and maintaining awareness of potential hazards within the facility.
Qualifications:
Minimum
This position must have:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Ability to operate various types of machinery, required
- Ability to look at computer screens for a long period of time
- To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions
- Ability to work in loud noise environments
- Ability to work in dusty environments
- Ability to work in elevated areas above 4 feet when necessary and in confined spaces
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting of up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely
- Ability to adhere to all PPE policies
- Ability to work 12hr rotating shifts
