Immigration Paralegal – Family-Based and Humanitarian Immigration
The Scott Law Firm is seeking an experienced, organized, and compassionate Immigration Paralegal to join our growing team. This position will primarily support attorneys handling family-based and humanitarian immigration matters, including:
- Adjustment of status
- Naturalization and citizenship
- Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)
- U visas and related applications
- Family-based petitions
- Employment authorization applications
Responsibilities
- Prepare immigration forms, supporting documents, and filing packages under attorney supervision.
- Communicate regularly with clients to obtain documents, answer procedural questions, and provide case updates.
- Review client records and supporting evidence for accuracy and completeness.
- Draft client declarations, cover letters, and routine correspondence.
- Prepare adjustment-of-status, naturalization, SIJS, U-visa, and family-petition filings.
- Track deadlines, receipt notices, biometrics appointments, interviews, and case developments.
- Assist attorneys with responses to Requests for Evidence and Notices of Intent to Deny.
- Maintain complete and accurate electronic case files.
- Coordinate with attorneys and other team members to ensure cases move forward efficiently.
- Follow firm procedures and quality-control standards.
- Provide clients with respectful, compassionate, and professional service.
Qualifications
- Prior immigration-law experience is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with family-based immigration forms and procedures.
- Experience with adjustment of status, naturalization, SIJS, or U-visa cases is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the legal team.
- Comfortable learning and using case-management and document-preparation software.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
