What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sites Worker position at The School District of Lee County?
We are hiring a Sites Worker who will be responsible for Maintaining exterior facilities, equipment, and grounds of all District property in a safe and cost-effective manner that supports the goals of the District. This role will also ensure compliance, and supports the mission, vision, values and objectives of the School District of Lee County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
- Valid Florida commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Class A
- Air brakes endorsement
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain and care for sites and school campuses including asphalt repairs.
- Assist in the grading of soil and installation of sod and mulch.
- Mow lawns with hand and/or power tools.
- Maintain and service all sites equipment.
- Collect and dispose of leaves and refuse.
- Assist in the installation and repair of fencing and playground equipment.
- Spray for weed control and fertilization.
- Operate related equipment such as bat wing mower, dump truck, bucket truck, front end loader, bobcat, trencher, and tractor with box blade.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication, training, and record keeping.
- Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks when required.
- Register with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
- Maintain driver and CDL licensure and required endorsements.
