What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start Teacher position at the School District of Lee County?
The School District of Lee County’s Early Childhood Learning Services Head Start Program is looking for teachers who are able to change the trajectory of a child’s life. Early childhood positions are District teaching positions with the same salary and benefits as any other grade level. Teachers use active, center-based, language rich instruction to support children as they learn to become more independent and develop the skills they need to be successful in Kindergarten. We believe child-directed, project-based learning can help lay a solid foundation for our youngest scholars. We do not believe in a push down curriculum but rather a standards-based education that meets children where they are. We are a ditto-free zone! All classrooms are supported by mentor teachers, social workers, nurses, mental health specialists and family advocates for a true interdisciplinary approach. If you want to make a difference in a child’s life, Early Childhood may be the place for you!
