We are currently recruiting for the position of:
Multi-Purpose Clerk - Pharmacy - 1157 N. Willow, Clovis, CA 93612
The Pharmacy Clerk ensures that customers’ needs are met and exceeded by delivering remarkable customer service and providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude. The Pharmacy Clerk supports the Pharmacy department by performing tasks such as greeting and assisting customers with questions, promoting sales within the department, preparing, packaging, pricing, and merchandising products, maintaining department standards, and ringing up purchases.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide customers with a remarkable shopping experience by greeting and thanking customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner, answering questions, assisting with locating products, ringing up purchases and notifying pharmacist that counseling is needed, as required
- Receive refill and new prescription orders, verifying customer’s correct name, address, and insurance information; may enter new patient information into computer; and photocopies insurance cards and billing statements as necessary
- Place filled prescriptions awaiting physician approval or customer contact in the correct location
- Keep an accurate record of prescriptions dispensed and enters information into computer system as instructed and under the supervision of the pharmacist
- File written prescriptions in numerical order; file other paperwork under supervision of Pharmacy Manager
- Fill supply bins with prescription vials and lids
- Control over-the-counter pharmacy inventory in the pharmacy; re-orders products as necessary
- Process incoming orders to determine that items ordered were shipped and that items shipped are the same as items invoiced to the pharmacy
- Maintain knowledge of pharmacy products and weekly ad items in order to offer customers with product suggestions and provide direction of product location in department
- Communicate customer requests to department management
- Follow all department procedures
- Operate appropriate department equipment and tools (e.g. cash register)
- Keep work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; reports faulty equipment and hazards to management; follows established sanitation and safety guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Excellent communication skills in order to ensure excellent customer service
- Outgoing, friendly and able to interact effectively at all levels across diverse cultures
- Ability to read, write and count
Education: High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
Experience: Pharmacy experience
Physical: Store environment: ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects
Other: Minimum Age: 18 years old
