SEEKING SOPRANO JAZZ SINGERS FOR SWINGS AND FUTURE REPLACEMENTS IN VINTAGE HARMONY TRIO

Other Dates:

The Satin Dollz perform for weekly residency in midtown, as well as other gigs as they come up. Dollz are generally booked on between 2-4 dates a month, depending on availability.

Residency performances are every Friday and Saturday in the evening, in midtown.

Rehearsals begin Monday, April 27th, 6-9pm. Rehearsals are every Monday, barring holidays.

The Satin Dollz are seeking additional soprano vocalists to their New York Division for our weekly residency in midtown. We highly encourage and invite BIPOC performers to submit.

SEEKING- charismatic, trained SOPRANO vocalists based in NYC (BIPOC singers highly encouraged to submit) who are comfortable portraying a female persona. Must be able to hold tight harmonies and handle complicated jazz and big band swing arrangements for the Brooklyn Delicatessen in Times Square, special events, vintage festivals, and concerts with opportunities to perform internationally. 1920s, 1940s, and Rockabilly/1950s genre with some modern mashups. Must be able to handle some choreography while singing.

• Title with first and last name and “NYC Division”. This is VERY IMPORTANT as we are currently casting multiple divisions.
• Brief self introduction and location
• 16 bars of a ballad (Please NO MUSICAL THEATRE or contemporary selections; jazz or standard preferred)
• 16 bars of an upbeat song (Please NO MUSICAL THEATRE or contemporary selections; jazz or standard preferred)
• Downloadable headshot and resume

COMPENSATION:

$150-$350 per gig plus travel, lodging and meals for out-of-town shows. Shows are booked on a gig-by-gig basis. Performers have the choice of choosing which gigs they want to do based on their schedule and gig pay.

REHEARSAL: Rehearsal is on a reoccurring, weekly basis on Monday nights 6-9pm.

All funds are derived from booked gigs and performers are paid from shows; rehearsals are not paid.

COSTUMING: All costumes are provided, except tights and shoes.
