Position: Finance Director

Sargent Rehabilitation Center, aka Sargent Center, is a rapidly expanding nonprofit organization serving the disabled population in RI through the operation of a nonpublic day school and school to work program for children and young adults with disabilities, with an on campus state Regional Resource Training Center offering professional learning and development seminars and opportunities.
Overview: The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, budgeting, financial planning and reporting, pension and audit compliance, and collaborating with administration to develop and implement strategies that support the organization’s mission and goals.
Qualifications: Strong educational background and relevant experience in finance and accounting. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field with certifications preferred.
Experience/Skills: Strong financial management skills and deep understanding of budgeting, financial planning, financial analysis, budget monitoring, and preparation of financial statements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
-Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks
-Provide monthly financial reports and analysis for the CEO
-Prepare and present financial statements at Board meetings
-Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
-Participate in the selection of health and property/casualty insurance
-Maintain and assure compliance with the Center’s Finance Manual
-Provide support and backup for payroll function
-Prepare 990 tax return
-Grant accounting
-Cash management
--Develop annual budget and forecasts
-Coordinate annual fiscal and pension audits
-Serve as a liaison with vendors
-Complete all invoices including scheduled monthly tuition invoicing
-Collaborate with Executive Management in assessing growth plans as they relate to the strategic plan
-Other duties and responsibilities as designated by the CEO and Board of Directors
