Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Toast POS ensuring all details are correct
- Recommend menu items and upsell specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Manage food handling and sanitation procedures according to safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to coordinate seating and optimize guest flow
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain excellent guest relations by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive experience
- Support kitchen staff with basic food prep when needed and uphold food safety standards
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy hours while multitasking efficiently
- Culinary experience or background in food handling is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food preparation techniques
- Experience with upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and inventory management
- Previous host/host or serving experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential
