Job Summary
Assists Site Director and the Program Manager with Summer Day Camp program.

Service Work (95%)
Interacts with children in recreational activities
Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure effectiveness and safety of members
Exhibits control of children and, when needed, displays proper discipline techniques
Ensures productive work environment
Ensures that daily activities are in compliance with The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Centers policies and regulations.
Assists in preparing and providing field trips for children
Assists in organizing, implementing and evaluating activities and programs for Summer Day Camp Program
Performs cleaning duties-taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming rooms and sweeping/mopping hallways or gym
May provide snacks for children
Assists and participates in regularly scheduled training sessions
Other Responsibilities (5%)
Performs other related work as required
Physical Requirements
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a gymnasium environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust dirt, and the like. Work may also be performed outside where there may be discomfort associated with changes in weather, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Education and Experience
HS diploma or GED AND two years experience working with children OR and equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CPR and First Aid
