What You'll Do
As a Social Service Worker, you will:
- Meet with individuals and families seeking assistance and assess eligibility for available programs
- Provide assistance through food pantry services, vouchers, clothing, furniture, and emergency financial aid
- Provide oversight of the Day Shelter within the Facility
- Help clients complete applications and gather required documentation
- Coordinate rent and utility assistance with landlords and utility providers
- Connect clients with community resources and partner agencies
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Compile service statistics and reports
- Answer questions from clients and community members regarding available programs and services
- Assist with seasonal and special community programs as needed
- Support food pantry operations, including inventory and distribution management
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and data entry.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Comfort using everyday office technology and software.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment while moving about the workspace as needed.

Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree in Human Services or a related field

- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
- Experience working with vulnerable populations or community assistance programs
