ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Schedule/Hours:
Every Sunday 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and during special events throughout the year, usually in the evenings (4-5 hours per week)
This position is responsible for:
Provides care for infants and toddlers in a nursery; changes babies' diapers and clothes and ensures their personal hygiene and safety; feeds and cleans babies; comforts and plays with babies.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitors all baby’s behavior and activities in a constant manner ensuring their health and safety at all times.
- Changes babies diapers and ensures babies are clean before applying a fresh diaper.
- Changes baby’s clothes as needed to ensure their comfort and personal hygiene.
- Teaches babies basic learning skills.
- Reads stories and sings to babies.
- Ensures the nursery is maintained in a safe and clean manner at all times.
- Prepares babies' food and feeds babies in accordance with diet established by the parents.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.
- Ability to lift, hold, and carry infants and toddlers on a continuous basis weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required, AND
- six months experience caring for babies in a nursery environment, OR
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
