Description of Position The New Home Milieu Coordinator is to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for The New Home residents through the implementation and monitoring of the healing environment at New Home. The Milieu Coordinator will work alongside the New Day New Home House Manager in creating, maintaining and communicating the daily work schedule for NDNH Milieu Workers and program activity and groups. The Milieu Coordinator will work alongside the NDNH House Manager and NDNH Case Managers to support resident’s basic and immediate needs, intakes, discharges, and paperwork. The Milieu Coordinator will meet weekly/ biweekly with the Milieu team for individual supervision and support in residential care. The Milieu Coordinator is to communicate And support all residents in a trauma informed manner. The Milieu Coordinator will support staff in leading life skills groups that cover such topics as emotional management, applying for victims’ compensation, and how to adjust their independent living skills to return to a pre-victimization status. Milieu Coordinator will inform residents of information regarding victims’ compensation claims and support in filing. The Milieu Coordinator is to effectively communicate with the house manager, milieu staff, case managers and housing specialists and participate in weekly client review, as well as team meetings to create a trauma informed environment. This is a grant funded position and relies on the continuation of funding.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior residential, social service, or customer service work experience.
- Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel Programs and be proficient in and the ability to utilize the internet.
- Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
