What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Monitor (6698) position at THE SALVATION ARMY?
Schedule: Varies based on the need. (58 Hours Bi-Weekly)
This position is responsible for :
- Ensuring the safety, security, and orderly operation of the shelter while providing direct support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process new shelter clients during check-in.
- Obtain required signatures on shelter rules and documentation.
- Assign rooms and maintain resident property records.
- Monitor residents to ensure compliance with shelter rules.
- Conduct routine security rounds throughout the facility.
- Collects and washes all dirty towels and linens.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Qualifications:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- and
- one year experience performing security or social service work preferred,
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid State Driver’s License
