Groundskeeper

About This Opportunity

Schedule/Hours: Mon - Fri 8:30 to 3:00 (Part Time position - 29 hours weekly)

This position is responsible for: 
Performs a variety of grounds keeping work in order to maintain the health and beautification of grounds at El Paso Salvation Army; mows and edges grass, trims trees/shrubs, blows leaves and debris from sidewalks.

Inspects grounds regularly to detect needed repairs or unsafe conditions.

Ensures water systems are properly operating at all facilities and sprinkler systems.

Assists in performing custodial and maintenance work as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.

Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting, and lifting.  Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.

Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) frequently.

Working Conditions:

Work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

What We ae Looking for in You

Education and Experience:
No formal education required,

And 

Six months experience performing grounds keeping work,

Or 

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:
Driver's License
