This position is responsible for:
Provides administrative and managerial support to the Commanding Officer; supervises, monitors and evaluates the work of the financial, budgeting, bookkeeping, computer systems, property management and human resources functions, ensures that the day-to-day operations of the same are in compliance with the policies and procedures of the Area Command, assumes additional responsibilities in the absence of the Area Commander.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises, assigns, instructs, monitors and evaluates the work of staff responsible for the financial, budgeting, bookkeeping, computer systems, property management and human resource functions; interviews potential employees and hires/fires employees; conducts exit interviews; prepares and submits required paperwork for hiring and terminating employees; conducts annual performance reviews and makes recommendations for pay increases or position changes;
- Supervises, develops, coordinates and implements all areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, EDP and related business activities;
- Assists all departments in budget control and preparation; reviews budget status periodically with department heads; monitors all expenditures and makes appropriate adjustments when appropriate;
- Supervises and evaluates the installation and maintenance of Area Command computer systems; works with designated Divisional Headquarters staff as to procurement installation, maintenance, personnel development, and usage and development plan of all computers;
- Directs and supervises all personnel matters including the maintenance of personnel files; ensures that job descriptions are up-to-date; ensures that all hiring/firing policies are adhered to; ensures that performance evaluations are conducted in a timely manner; consults the Area Commander and Department Heads regarding personnel matters and policies;
- Reviews with Department Head’s each department’s operation with respect to the program budget; assists in budget control and preparation and reviews budget status with Department Heads periodically;
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative experience,
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
- Valid State Driver’s License
