About this Opportunity
Schedule/Hours: M – F 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week)
This position is responsible for:
Manages the Angel Tree Program; recruits, trains, coordinates the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet Christmas program needs; prepares records and reports for the Christmas program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains names of volunteers at the Christmas Distribution Center in a book to be kept current at all times.
- Work with Volunteer Coordinator if each time slot is not filled to find replacement volunteer if a volunteer calls and is unable to report.
- Maintains the statistics, placement and follow-up for all Angels at all locations.
- Assists with an Appreciation Program for the Christmas Program employees and Christmas volunteers at the end of the season.
- Contacts Corporate Sponsors on the number of angels they require, preparing materials and angels for delivery.
- Answer all telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner, obtaining answers from appropriate personnel if answer is not known.
- Supervise all procedures in organizing gifts for Angels.
- Provides accurate and complete information about Christmas Programs.
- Maintain and stock snack table for volunteers.
- Compiles information for booklets, kits, notebooks for meeting and recruitment of volunteers and/or Christmas employees.
- Co-supervise all distribution sites on distribution days.
- Evaluates and provides a report of the success of the Christmas Program at the end of the season.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
- Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, typewriter, and computer.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to clients requiring assistance.
- Duties are usually performed seated; however, work at the Christmas Distribution Center will require walking, standing, lifting and carrying.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 15-20% of work time.
- Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
- Work may require driving a vehicle where there may be discomforts associated with heavy traffic or changes in weather.

What we are looking for in you:
- High School diploma or G.E.D., AND
- Two years experience working in an office environment, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
