Responsibilities include answering telephones, managing correspondence, and handling day-to-day office duties. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides timely, smooth and professional communication and correspondence related to all corps programs, including feedback and follow-up with staff, leadership, corps members, program leaders, clients, visitors, and volunteers
- Manages and distributes incoming calls, mail, email, and faxes.
- Work with Corps Officer and other staff to create, prepare, and send mailings, and emails, as needed.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, furnishings, equipment; ordering supplies as requested.
- Assist with the recording of all donations (mail and other) as directed and prepare income sheet for bookkeeper.
- Maintain spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist Corps Officer with maintenance of schedule and Outlook calendar.
- Maintain forms (social services, youth registration, employment) as requested.
- Create weekly worship bulletins, periodic flyers and other church communication materials.
- Provide input to building upkeep and maintenance needs – report all problems, schedule outside vendors as needed.
- Attend meetings, including advisory board, recording notes and preparing minutes as requested.
- Volunteer coordination using The Salvation Army volunteer databases.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Two years of office or administrative experience (preferred)
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Excellent organizational, grammar, writing and typing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
- Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
- Willingness to learn new software as needed
- Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed
- Must have a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
