We welcome you on finding your place to offer opportunities for people in need!**GENERAL STATEMENT:**The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is spiritual regeneration of all people.The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.**SCOPE OF POSITION:**The Youth Ministries Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and implementation of all youth ministry programming associated with The Salvation Army in Kalispell, Montana.**EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:**-

High School Diploma or equivalent required-

Prior youth programming experience (i.e. troops, camps, Sunday school, youth group, etc.).**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:**-

This is a ministry position within The Salvation Army, prospective candidates for this position must have a strong personal commitment to Christ and maintain a lifestyle that is in keeping with Salvation Army doctrine. Uniform wearing Salvationist is preferred but not required.-

Must be able to discuss Christianity with children and adults in a relatable and non-threatening manner.-

Must have the ability to relate positively to people from diverse backgrounds.-

Be flexible and open to new ideas, concepts, and ways of doing things while keeping pace with multiple priorities.-

Have the ability to work well independently and in a detailed, professional and courteous manner.-

Ability to use basic office machines/equipment.-

Ability to complete Protecting the Mission - child safety training.-

Complete CPR/First Aid training within initial 90 days of employment.-

Able to pass a motor vehicle check as well as complete The Salvation Army driving test.**SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:**-

Microsoft Office suite-

Able to work with multiple social media platforms-

Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs with basic training.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**-

Provide oversight for the spiritual development of children, teens and young adults.-

Coordinate, facilitate and oversee Youth Sunday School, Junior Soldiers, Junior Church, SAY Programs (Troops), Vacation Bible School, Youth Recognition Sundays, Court of Awards, and any other program/event associated with youth ministry.-

Identify, recruit, coordinate and train volunteers for youth programing (troop leaders, Sunday school teachers, drivers, chaperones, etc.).-

Ensure the health and safety of program participants while maintaining a clean and safe work area.-

Communication with program participants, parents, volunteers and co-workers.-

Create and develop programs to include Christian Education, worship, games, recreational activities, arts/crafts, and music that will aid in attracting and retaining children, teens and young adults.-

Attend and participate in Sunday Morning Holiness Meeting.-

Ensure Protecting the Mission policies are communicated and maintained among program participants, parents, volunteers and staff.-

Maintain Protecting the Mission records and provide training for all corps program staff & volunteers.-

Maintain all youth programming paperwork (program registrations, permission slips, media releases, medical authorizations, etc.).-

Provide and or coordinate transportation to and from all Salvation Army programs and events, including out of state camps, conferences and retreats.-

Attend staff meetings and trainings as required, including but not limited to Protecting the Mission - child safety training, and The Salvation Army fleet safety training.-

Attend and report on youth related news at monthly Corps Council, Advisory Board, and Women's Auxiliary meetings-

Maintain statistics and complete reports in a timely manner.-

Maintain professional appearance and adhere to employee dress codes at all times when working.-

Shop for supplies as needed.-

Assist with seasonal efforts, which may include but are not limited to: Christmas Intake/Distribution, Kettle drop off/pick up, counting, and data entry.-

Other duties as assigned by Corps Officer(s).**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**-

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis-

Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead-

Ability to operate telephone-

Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer -

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)-

Ability to access and produce information from a computer-
