BASIC PURPOSE
The Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for sale
- Keep donation area clean and without debris
- Sorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items
- Loading donations for truck delivery
- Adhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucks
- Follow all accident and injury reporting procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving and processing area
- Determine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageable
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct Supervisor
Educational Requirements
- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stoop
- Ability to walk, climb and/or balance
- Ability to lift-up and/or move 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance peripheral, vision, and depth perception.
