About This Opportunity
Creates exceptional customer/member service experiences for the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. Sells and/or verifies memberships through the established sales system; provides information and answers questions about available programs/classes; answers the telephone in a courteous manner and directs calls to the appropriate destination; records accurate and complete messages when necessary. Receives and receipts deliveries and donations, greets and announces visitors and clients, provides general information about The Salvation Army Kroc Center operations and services. Performs routine clerical work such as typing and filing.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to operate a POS system, telephone and/or switchboard.
Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to perform routine mathematical computations.
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead.
Ability to operate telephone and a desktop computer.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Key Responsibilities
- Provides excellent, prompt and courteous services for members and perspective members of the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
- Gives tours of the Kroc Center by promoting the center and selling memberships or classes.
- Handles cash, makes change and operates the established computer software; serves customers, clients and members according to established procedures.
- Receives and handles telephone calls, visitors and emails in a friendly and professional manner; directs calls to appropriate program/staff in a timely manner; records accurate and complete messages when needed.
- Maintains progressive knowledge of all programs, events, parties and class schedules; listens to members’ goals and preferences and connects them to existing and related solutions; maintains awareness of opportunities for increased sales to include personal training, parties, apparel, etc.
- Observes and identifies customers, clients and members that may be recommended candidates for scholarship assistance. Provides assistance for the scholarship application process if needed.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the Point of Sale (POS) stations and kiosks. Keeps sales area clean and neatly arranged at all times.
- Secures the POS area at the open and close of shift.
- Provides back-up support for other areas as requested.
- Adheres to Kroc Center operations as well as all policy procedures and observes all safety rules and regulations.
- Explains and enforces facility policies; monitors the behavior of members participating in activities; promotes sportsmanship and behavior appropriate for the activity.
- Participates in training opportunities to gain a thorough understanding of computer systems, equipment and supplies; maintains and secures equipment in compliance with acceptable standards to ensure the long life of equipment.
- As requested, assists members and other staff in the set-up of parties, facility rentals and/or special events; ensures areas are cleaned and equipment is restocked after facility use.
- Protects The Salvation Army interests by observing and preventing potentials for liabilities due to injuries; ensures the safety of all participants.
- Prepares, maintains and submits statistical reports as required.
- Attends information fairs to represent the RJKCCC; prepares/participates in preparing and distributes information regarding programs offered, fee schedules, hours of operation, etc.
- Attends staff meetings as assigned.
- Provides referral information to meet individual and family needs.
- Maintains the confidentiality and performs data entry of member information as required.
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Six months cashier and/or customer service experience
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities
