Job Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Media Intern (Spring Semester) to join our Development Department to fulfill the mission of the Salvation Army. We are looking for someone to provide creative and new ideas to achieve our goals. This person will have duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies. As a Social Media Intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and development team in all stages of marketing campaigns as well as oversee our social media profiles for the division. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our communication efforts. This internship will help you acquire communication skills and provide you with knowledge of various marketing strategies and business communication.
*This is a volunteer/unpaid internship and may be used for course credit.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitor social media accounts for the North & South Carolina Division
- Post corporate assets for commands using Sendible & content calendar
- Create social media content such as reels and stories
- Follow social media trends and make recommendations for participation
- Support the development team in administrative tasks
- Help organize marketing campaigns
- Assist in the development of digital marketing campaigns
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Strong desire to learn along with the professional drive
- Solid understanding of different social media platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Passion for The Salvation Army and its Mission
- Current enrollment in a related BS or Masters degree program
Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License
