The Salvation Army Family Store is seeking a full-time Sales Floor Supervisor to serve as a key leader on the sales floor and a trusted partner to the Store Manager. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys retail leadership, takes pride in creating a welcoming shopping experience, and is motivated by meaningful, mission-driven work.

Every sale made in our Family Stores directly supports programs that provide food assistance, emergency housing, disaster response, and hope to individuals and families in need. As a Sales Floor Supervisor, your leadership helps make those services possible.

Position Details

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $17.00/hour

Position Overview

The Sales Floor Supervisor serves as the lead presence on the sales floor during assigned shifts, supporting daily operations while modeling The Salvation Army's values of respect, service, and integrity. This role works closely with the Store Manager to ensure a clean, organized, and engaging retail environment while coaching staff, volunteers, and community service workers to do their best work.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Model outstanding customer service for shoppers, donors, staff, and volunteers
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and visually appealing sales floor
  • Merchandise donated goods and assist with seasonal and promotional displays
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and product presentation
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and coaching to employees, volunteers, and community service workers
  • Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and register balancing
  • Address customer questions and concerns with professionalism and care
  • Monitor the sales floor for safety concerns, loss prevention, and facility needs
  • Assist with store promotions, sales events, and special initiatives
  • Communicate expectations, updates, and priorities from the Store Manager to frontline staff
  • Maintain confidentiality, follow Safe from Harm guidelines, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a service-minded leader who enjoys retail and understands the value of teamwork. Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Cash handling and point-of-sale experience required
  • Two (2) years of retail, customer service, or thrift store experience preferred
  • Experience with on-the-job training, coaching, or informal leadership strongly preferred
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead by example and positively influence others
  • Comfort multitasking in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Basic computer and register system skills
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army

Physical & Working Conditions

  • Ability to move and lift up to 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally, with assistance or equipment
  • Work performed in retail and warehouse environments with exposure to dust, dirt, odors, waste, chemicals, fumes, or moving equipment
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift
